In the past 20 years Kevin has sold over 15,000 land lots and house and land packages and has received 180 industry awards for his achievements.  These include the concept and development of the Smarter Small Home, the redevelopment of 650 homes for the QLD State Government as well as the successful Concept 90 Display Home Villages.  He is a key speaker at major industry and property events around Australia and is the Founder of The Future Housing Taskforce.

Cr Pam Parker, Logan City Council Mayor

As Mayor of Logan, Cr Parker is committed to responsible social, economic and environmental planning to ensure diverse lifestyle choices for current and future residents.  Mayor Parker has been part of a team of elected representatives that has seen the transformation of Logan over the past 13 years.

Mayor Parker joined the Future Housing Taskforce as she is keenly aware of the need to develop strong partnerships with all levels of government and with all sectors of the community, including the business community to plan for and deliver infrastructure to ensure a bright future for Logan.


David Cant, CEO Brisbane Housing Company

David Cant is the Chief Executive Officer of the Brisbane Housing Company; the largest “not for dividend” affordable housing provider in Queensland.  David is also a member of the Prime Ministers Council on Homelessness; the Commonwealth advisory council supporting implementation of the White Paper commitments to significantly reduce homelessness by 2020.   

Working as a consultant to the Queensland State Government David led the team that created the BHC in 2000-2001 and under his leadership the Brisbane Housing Company has completed 1,000 homes with a further 500 dwellings in the development pipeline. For over 40 years David has been committed to the provision of housing for those in need and on low incomes.  


Ian Agnew, Archicentre State Manager, QLD, NSW and ACT

Ian Agnew has a passion for affordable, sustainable and clever design.  It is his vision to see to it that home owners at all levels have access to good architecture.   “Our homes should be an expression of who we are and how we like to live, not just a place of shelter and communion.  Architecture therefore need not be just for the rich and famous.  It should be something that we all can benefit from”

As Archicentre’s State Manager, Ian and his team of architects provide affordable fixed fee architectural design and inspection services to customers at all stages of home ownership. 

By joining the Future Housing Taskforce, Ian intends on ensuring architects will play a key role in ensuring the principles of good design are represented and implemented on all that the Taskforce does in the future. 


John Moynihan Owner/Director of the Brisbane based consultancy Ecolateral Pty Ltd

John has worked relentlessly over the past three decades to promote sustainable development throughout the building industry. As an architect, registered builder and educator John has consistently delivered his message of “Long Life Loose Fit” to the residential and commercial industry throughout Australia.

John’s work has been recognized and honoured in Australia and Europe by Government, Building Associations and Academic Institutions.

Ken Mitchell, Director, Queensland Lifestyle Development Group

Ken's commitment to affordable housing has been well and truly proven over the years with his involvement in the renovation and building of over 650 homes for the Queensland State Government in conjunction with Kevin Doodney.  This massive undertaking saw the entire suburb of Inala transformed with strong growth in property prices for lower income families, community pride reclaimed and a dramatic fall in the crime rate literally overnight.

Ken is Director of the Queensland Lifestyle Development Group which comprises a Guild of over 8 builders currently completing 800 homes in 2010.  " Kevin and I have personally seen what can be achieved in a suburb if you bring solid design principles and quality building into place.  Homes that our nurses,  police officers, teachers and firefighters can afford is essential to all communities and we have a responsibility to work harder to deliver this."


Mark Doonar, Former National Director, Tract

 Mark is a master planner and urban designer of exceptional experience.  He is the Immediate Past President of the Brisbane Development Association and sits on the Queensland Government's Urban Land Development Authority's Urban Design Review Panel.  Mark was a National Director of urban planning and design company, Tract Consultants.  His responsibilities included Planning and Urban Design for Queensland and Northern Territory.

"Creating quality living spaces for all Australians is my goal. I've joined the Future Housing Taskforce to bring fresh urban planning ideas and concepts to the table.  The building industry and the planning industry need to work closely to develop new communities that deliver affordable and sustainable outcomes without sacrificing the iconic Australian lifestyle."

 


Peter Sherrie, National President Urban Development Institute of Australia

Peter Sherrie has been involved in the property development industry for over 17 years working for national and overseas property development companies in senior positions, covering all aspects of residential developments. In December 2009, Peter was elected unopposed as National President of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (National). He has held positions on the UDIA (Qld) Council since 1993, including the position of President (2004-2006).

Peter intends to bring his knowledge base and experience to the Future Housing Taskforce.  "Affordable and sustainable housing continues to be an essential part of Australia's ongoing strength and success as a Nation. Therefore it is imperative to get housing affordability right."
 


Steve Pisani, National Demand Manager, James Hardie Australia

Steve Pisani is the National Demand Manager for James Hardie Australia and has worked with the company since 1976.  Steve's focus is on working with the building industry to unearth smarter ways to build homes as well as creating innovative products and systems with the objective of providing sustainable building solutions for the future.

Steve joined the Future Housing Taskforce as a Key Member to bring fresh ideas and new building concepts to the table.  "We are committed to building sustainable homes in Australia. By working closely with the housing industry, builders and developers we believe we can make a difference."


Wayne Rex, QLD President of the Property Council of Australia

Wayne has a 25 year career in real estate development with the past 15 years in executive management roles in Australia and overseas for both publicly listed and private development companies. Wayne is the current President of the Property Council of Australia (Qld Division).

Wayne is a director of Hooker Rex a boutique land syndication and development advisory business focussed on institutional capital in the residential sector. "The property industry as a whole is beginning to realize the importance of sustainable housing.  I'm not just talking about the star rating of a home, but the ongoing affordability of housing in Australia. Future generations are counting on us to get this right."
